The 4-week sprint
For students testing within about a month. Four heavy weeks, each mapped to the NCLEX Client Needs areas, with a daily rhythm, a review day every seventh day, and timed milestone exams at weeks 2 and 4. Our read on volume: aim for roughly 50–75 practice items a day plus your Study mode cards — about 90–120 focused minutes. Quality beats quantity: every miss gets reviewed and logged.
Client Needs weights: NCSBN, 2026 NCLEX-RN Test Plan (effective April 1, 2026). Daily volumes and pacing are our synthesis, labeled "Our read" throughout.
The four weeks
Week 1 — The heavy pair: Management of Care + Pharmacology foundations
- Days 1–3 — Prioritization & delegation. Drill the frameworks from Tutorial 3 (ABCs, Maslow, ADPIE, RN/LPN/UAP scope) until they're reflex. These two topics are roughly a sixth of the exam on their own.
- Days 4–6 — Pharmacology foundations. Medication administration safety, the "rights," dosage calculation every day (10 calc problems daily — calc is free points if you drill it), IV basics.
- Day 7 — Review day. Error log, weak-topic re-test, no new material.

Week 2 — Pharmacology depth + Physiological Adaptation
- Days 8–10 — Pharm depth. Adverse effects, contraindications, interactions, and patient teaching for high-yield drug classes; parenteral/IV therapy and blood products.
- Days 11–13 — Physiological Adaptation. Fluid/electrolyte and acid-base imbalances, medical emergencies, recognizing unexpected responses to therapies.
- Day 14 — Milestone 1: 75-item timed exam. Mixed content, ~90 seconds per item, one pass. Score it, then spend the rest of the day reviewing every miss.
Week 3 — Safety + Reduction of Risk + NGN drills
- Days 15–17 — Safety. Precautions and PPE, falls, restraints, incident reporting, emergency response and disaster triage.
- Days 18–19 — Reduction of Risk. Lab values and diagnostics, vital-sign interpretation, recognizing complications and changes in condition — the "what's abnormal and what do you do" muscle.
- Days 20–21 — NGN bootcamp. Bow-tie, trend, cloze, matrix, and SATA drills using Tutorial 2. Untimed first, then fold the formats into timed blocks.
Week 4 — The rest + comprehensive review + taper
- Days 22–24 — Remaining areas. Growth and development, immunizations, ante/postpartum and newborn basics; therapeutic communication, crisis, grief, abuse/neglect, substance use; ADLs, nutrition, mobility, pain management.
- Day 25–26 — Comprehensive review. Your full error log, weakest Client Needs areas first, re-test old misses from memory.
- Day 27 — Milestone 2: 100-item timed exam. Your dress rehearsal: quiet room, scheduled break, no phone.
- Day 28 — Taper. Light review only. Stop studying by dinner the night before your exam.
How the plan adapts
The plan above is the default route. Your actual route adjusts based on what Study mode and your practice blocks reveal — this is the loop Nick coaches:
- Study mode finds the weak topics. Your daily sessions rank weakness by Client Needs area from your own answers — never anyone else's. Check the weak-topic list every Sunday.
- Nick re-weights the week. Tell Nick your weak areas (or paste your milestone results) and he'll reshape the coming days: roughly a 60/40 split favoring weak areas in practice blocks, plus a drop-in remediation session — targeted items, then re-test from memory the next day.
- Milestones gate the pace. Our read: if a milestone lands well under ~65%, don't just push forward — add 2–3 remediation days on the weakest areas first, then re-test. A plan that adapts beats a plan that's merely completed.
- Anything can be rebalanced on demand. The prompt pattern is: "Rebalance my week — my weakest topics are [X, Y]." Paste that to Nick any day and he'll re-draft your remaining days around it.

Need more time? The 8-week plan covers the same ground with two weeks per content family, an NGN bootcamp week, and a full review week. Same adaptive loop, more breathing room.
